CONCLUSION:

WHERE NEXT?

This blog post will be concluding my global media project, looking into the future of global media, and what I am interested in researching in future projects.

It is difficult to say what the future of global media is going to look like as it is constantly, rapidly changing. However, it is no secret that digitization, commercialisation, conglomeration and international communication practices as I have explained them will in fact be very different, probably much bigger and more impressive in years to come.

It is possible for digitisation of television to completely take over and for broadcast to disappear. The only thing keeping it afloat would be live broadcasts, such as news and sports. Below is a short video explaining a possible scenario of what could happen if digital TV continues to take over by 2030.

International communication is going to continuously grow, as it is always going to be needed. Also, as we are still going through the pandemic and a second lockdown, usage is likely to be on the rise again. New platforms may be created off the back of the success of zoom and houseparty, enabling more ways to interact with eachother around the world.

Commercialisation and celebrity endorsement similarly will continue to be used as it is such an effective way of marketing. However, it is likely that ads will begin to be more personalised to the viewer, therefore the brands we see may be more limited than usual.

Conglomerations will always be a productive way for franchises to maximise profit, therefore these will not be going away anytime soon. I'm sure that we can expect brand new franchises being created, aswell as existing conglomerations being extended on, for example the recent Star Wars section being built into Disney World Florida.

I have thoroughly enjoyed looking into these topics and researching them for my blog. In the future I would be interested in looking at conglomerations, commercialisation and celebrity endorsement further. This is because in the future I would be interested in going into advertising as a career and as this is an aspect of advertising I feel this research can help broaden my knowledge and expertise on the topic.

I will further research this topic by looking into how adverts are changing, for example personalised ads, as well as what the future of commercialisation looks like. Furthermore, I will look into consumer response and possibly conduct surveys to get accurate responses. I will also research how commercialisation and celebrity endorsements differ globally and between different brands.
